Sete Encantos e o Mar

As composições deste álbum envolvem um faixa longa de tempo e de acontecimentos. Sete Encantos foi a primeira delas, composta por volta de 2014, na qual experimentei estruturas rítmicas expandidas que se transformavam gradativamente. Em 2017 perdi meu pai e tentei traduzir um mar de sentimentos em peças como Juju e a Borboleta, que nasceu de uma melodia que cantei por whatsapp para minha irmã. Veio a pandemia em 2020 e quis compor peças mais simples, como Passará, que fiz para minha aluna Karine Rodrigues, que me ensinou a ver o mundo com outros olhos. Celebrando amizades preciosas de pessoas que admiro muito, convidei Catarina, Lu e Rogério para aventuras improvisatórias, completando essa viagem instrumental em 2023. Espero que gostem!

Sete Encantos e o Mar

The compositions on this album involve a long stretch of time and a multitude of events. Sete Encantos (Seven Spells) was the first of them, composed around 2014, in which I experimented with expanded rhythmic structures gradually transforming. In 2017, I lost my father and tried to translate a sea of feelings in pieces like Juju e a Borboleta (Juju and the Butterfly), which was born from a melody I sang via WhatsApp to my sister. After the pandemic came in 2020 I wanted to compose simpler pieces such as Passará (It will Pass), dedicated to my student Karine Rodrigues, who taught me to see the world with different eyes. Celebrating precious friendships with people I much admire, I invited Catarina, Lu and Rogério to improvisational adventures, completing this instrumental journey in 2023. Enjoy!
